This is one of the most beautiful beaches we have seen in Nova Scotia. A unique lanscape and the mixture of sand with pebble and cobble rocks, the sound of the tide rushing into the rocks and floating back is an unique sound. The walk to Gaff point park is very nice and the park as such is a must to see as it offers a huge varity of NS landscapes in small spot. Good hiking shoes are recommended. The beach has the highest wave we have seen in NS and water was very cold. Surfers should have fun there. The pond lies befind the cobble dunes and was used by families with young children. Definitively a beach to recommend.
This is one of the best in NS. Very long beach for great walking, and a woodland hiking trail at one end. Spectacular setting, generally free of crowds.

one is right beside the road as you drive in, the second is a couple mins walk to the right and then its behind the dunes.
Where are the two little lakes? Have never seen them
Chase and I like this beach for walking. There’s lots of rocks on the beach so it’s not the best place for out “Senior” dog chase to go swimming.

Hirtle’s Beach appeals to the whole family, as there are 2 small lakes for kids to swim in, and those not up to the chill of the atlantic ocean waves!
